The year was 2020. I was in my third year at the University of Buea in Cameroon.
The world was facing one of the worst crises of our time, the coronavirus pandemic.
Thousands of people were losing their lives to an unknown virus with no clear cure.
Millions lost their jobs as lockdowns were enforced to keep people safe.

Even here in Africa, I was not exempt from the economic shock.
I lost my part-time job as a Math and Physics tutor for students preparing for Engineering and Medical school.

I went extremely broke and hungry.
Just like hundreds of thousands of others, I realized how risky it was to rely on a single income stream and how valuable it could be to earn online from the comfort of our homes.

Luckily for me, I found an online tutoring job teaching English and French to Japanese and Chinese students who were eager to learn the global language of business and travel. That opportunity changed my life forever.

Five years later, I have traveled to more than 20 African countries and built online businesses five times, each one bigger than the previous one.
